A return to Southern California brought us the first of the Monster Energy Triple Crown Events. Angels Stadium in Anaheim is known for hosting the season opener and this stop, traditionally called A2.
Shorter races in a 3 Main Event format provide an any man can win mentality and may have been the spark needed to put some confidence in a few riders seasons ongoing.

RedBull KTM rider Cooper Webb did what he sought after by joining the orange brand and claimed his first win of the season by taking the first 2 450 class Main Events. He seemed to have that cocky sparkle in his eye on the podium and may have found a spark he’s needed. His teammate, Marvin Musquin would finish 2nd overall and Kawasaki’s Eli Tomac would salvage two 4th’s with a win in the final Main to finish 3rd overall.
In 250 action, The TLD backed KTM of Shane Mcelrath got one spot better each Main Event with 3-2-1 finishes that secured him the overall. Monster Energy/Yamalube teammates Dylan Ferrandis and Colt Nichols would finish second and third respectively.
The number 141 of Robbie Wageman has been spreading his name through his beef jerky company called R-Jerky. His sales help fund his racing and this week he’d get a little more financial help with 20-15-18 scores for 17th overall.
