A
clean slate, new series and new battles begin tomorrow. Hangtown in
Sacramento, California will play host to round number one of the AMA Pro
Motocross series.

Can
the champs defend their titles? Ryan Dungey is fresh off a Supercross
championship in the 450 class and should have momentum on his side. His
consistency has been the ace in his pocket for seasons past. Jeremy
Martin will run the number one plate in the 250 class and looks to be
one of the class favorites.
My
favorites. I'm really expecting Eli Tomac to pick up where he left off
last season before injury sidelined him. I'm calling for a 1-1
performance at Hangtown. In the 250 class, Aaron Plessinger is my guy
this year. I think he will step up his speed and be the most consistent
guy. I pick him to win round one and be joined on the podium by one of
his teammates. Either Cooper Webb or Jeremy Martin, but just one. My
other podium spot goes to rookie, Austin Forkner.
Year
of the privateer. After racing the 250 east championship, Jesse
Wentland will race the 450 class on his RSR Honda tuned by Sean
Robertson. Jesse should be a constant top 10 threat. Noah Mcconahy
earned his first national number in 2015 and will sport number 96 in the
450 class. I look for Noah to better that double digit and be a 13-17
guy every week. In the 250 class I look for Michigan guy Marshal Weltin
to have some top 10 rides along with The 987 of Matthew Babbitt being a
regular in the top 20.
Tomorrow
we get the first 2 motos of 24 that will play out across the country in
the summer heat. Remember when taking in the great outdoors to
#cheerprivateer.
