The Others...San Diego One

First race jitters out of the way, round two of Monster Energy Supercross headed to San Diego, California.

Maybe the one stop on tour where Chad Reed might not be considered an old guy, but a favorite for the win. Chad showed up in his mid 20's form to go on and finish an impressive 2nd in the 450 main event. The defending champ, Ryan Dungey was in true form with a heat win and putting his KTM on the top step of the main. Husqvarna's Jason Anderson finished the night 3rd, but would be docked two spots for jumping on a Red Cross flag. The penalty would give Honda's Cole Seely a bump to 3rd overall. Nick Schmidt would put his TPJ Suzuki in the main event as well and finish 20th.

The 250 class continues to bring excitement, yet Cooper Webb remains the man to beat. Webb struggled a little in his heat race, but would work his way to the front and claim the main event win. Monster Energy / Pro Circuit rider Joey Savatgy would get his first heat win of the year and finish 2nd on the night. 3rd overall would go to Geico Honda rider Jordan Smith. Jordan's first podium finish of his career. The number 69 Yamaha of Colt Nichols would finish an impressive 5th on the night.

This week we give it up to the 203 YP KTM of Zach Commans. A kid who has came back from serious injury and used round two as his rookie year debut. He'd go on to take the final transfer spot out of the 250 LCQ and finish the main event in 18th place. Welcome to the big times Zach.

Regretfully we also have to bring up a pro rider from Michigan, Jarred Williams. While racing the Baltimore Arenacross, Jarred crashed in the whoops and is currently in the hospital with some serious injuries. Jarred grew up racing with my brother and it makes it a little harder to swallow when it hits home. Hang in there 893.

A Go Fund Me has been set up for Jarred:
